There are two ways to request an appointment at Bluebird Psychiatry: use the Request Appointment button on our website, or call our office at (512) 521-0868 during business hours. The fastest way is the Request Appointment button. New patients begin with a short phone call so we can make sure Bluebird is the right fit, and from there we schedule you with one of our providers. We see adults ages 18 to 65, in person in Austin and by telehealth across Texas.

What are the ways to request an appointment?

You can request an appointment in one of two ways:

Use the Request Appointment button on our website. This is the fastest way, and you can do it any time.

Call our office at (512) 521-0868 during business hours, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

What happens after I request an appointment?

Once you submit a request, here is what to expect:

You will receive an email to schedule a short phone call with our team.

On that call, which usually takes about 10 to 15 minutes, we will talk through what you are looking for and your goals, and make sure Bluebird is the right fit for you.

If it is a good fit, we will schedule you with one of our providers.

From there, we will walk you through our administrative intake so you are ready for your first appointment.

Why do you start with a phone call?

The short introductory call helps both of us. It gives you a chance to ask questions and share what you are hoping to get out of care, and it helps us confirm that our practice is a good match for your needs before anyone commits to an appointment. It is a low-pressure conversation, not an evaluation.

How soon can I be seen as a new patient?

It varies. Sometimes a new patient can be seen within about a week, and sometimes it takes a little longer, depending on availability. The introductory phone call is the first step, and once we confirm that Bluebird is the right fit, we will work with you to find a time that works.

Who is Bluebird Psychiatry a good fit for?

Bluebird is a good fit for adults ages 18 to 65 who are looking for thoughtful, ongoing psychiatric care and medication management, whether in person at our Westlake office or by telehealth anywhere in Texas.

We are probably not the right fit if you are looking only for a quick prescription without ongoing care, or if you only need disability or leave paperwork, such as FMLA forms, completed on its own. If that is what you need, we are glad to point you in a better direction.

Do you accept my insurance?

Bluebird Psychiatry is in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO plans, and we also see patients on a self-pay basis. For details, see our Insurance and Fees page. You may also want to read What to Expect From Your First Appointment before you book.
